It is raining and I do not have my GTI. So I can drive the leaky Sunchaser or the cheap ass Corolla rental. Grr. I am sitting here staring at the goddamned treadmill.

I have one of the worst mediations of my career coming up this week in LA. Can’t really talk about it, but bad sexual harassment, and worse government involved. I probably will not have to the GTI back and will have to drive this dumb Corolla. Honestly? I mainly had a crappy day yesterday and woke up still in the same mood.

I’ve been in a much worse mood since getting the CX-5 loaner. I’ve never hated a vehicle more, it’s truly awful. It’s slow, it’s uncomfortable, it’s cramped for my “super tall” 6' stubby legged frame, it sounds awful, it’s loud, it’s sketchy in the rain, and the usb/12v port works 25% of the time, so if I’m in a crash, there is only a 25% chance my dashcam will actually catch it.

It’s worse than the Aveo I had for work, and I am not joking.

Is there a strong union involved as well for extra fun?

And in the greater scheme of things, the Corolla isn’t bad at all.

I mean... I’ve driven Chevettes, Hyundai Ponys and other cars that are MUCH worse than the modern Corolla.

Serious question. Can you return the corolla, upgrade your rental to something fun (pony car, v8 chally, etc) for a few days, then rent another cheap car when you get back? Or it might even be worth it just to rent something else just for the trip. At most it’ll be a hundred or two dollars for a weekend. And I'm sure it will help your mood for the trip. Either way, good luck (if you believe in that sort of thing) with the mediation.
